For my birthday yesterday, Pere got me a &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005AL5H/serendipity&quot;&gt;14&quot; stainless fry pan from All-Clad&lt;/a&gt;.  I&apos;ve been wanting a large fry pan for some time now as my current 10&quot; fry pan and 14&quot; chef&apos;s pan are just too small to make four portions of some foods.  This pan is the first piece of stainless cookware we&apos;ve added to our collection.  Everything else we have is either anodized aluminum or enameled cast iron.  I&apos;ve been wanting to try the bonded stainless (stainless wrapped around an aluminum core), and this provided the perfect opportunity.

So far, i&apos;ve got it hanging on my pot rack just waiting to be used.  The real question, though, is what to make first?  I need something to put the pan through its paces for a proper review.  Any suggestions?  I&apos;m leaning toward trying a steak that I start on the stove top and finish in the oven, but I&apos;m open to suggestions.
