I'm in Seoul all week for work, and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for restaurants worth trying out? Getting around the city isn't a problem, but I would like to find places for dinner that are within the metro area. I'm open to most any cuisine, although I'm really hoping to find a restaurant that does a good job with Korean royal court cuisine without costing a ridiculous amount of money. I'm also interested in traditional Korean restaurants that serve a wide variety of banchan (side dishes). Any suggestions are welcome!

The bulgogi is great, the side dishes are plentiful and not the same as everywhe
re else. Better quality dwinjon jigae (sp?) etc. Make sure to order the bulgogi and an order of the rice, which has kidney beans, peas and a few other things that make it stand out against the same bop over and over.
Near Star Tower. Basically if you're coming toward Yoksam, say Yoksam station and then go straight there instead like you're heading to Daechi or Dogok. Down from Star Tower before the very major intersection,
there is a palace sort of looking, big Korean restaurant. Normally lots of cars parked in the lot out front, and nice cars. That's it. Don't know how else to explain it.
I ended up having hot pot and fried tofu at a nice (but I'll never find it again) place in Insadong. Today was lunch at a traditional bean (tofu) soup place across from one of our factories, and tonight is a "soju meeting" along with some sam gyeob sal. Should be fun.
Hopefully, I'll get a chance to try one of your recommendationa - if not on this trip, then perhaps the next one!
