I've been doing quite a bit of business travel as of late, and have been spending a fair amount of time in various airlines' lounges. As a matter of fact, right now, I'm typing up this entry from the Singapore Air lounge at the Taipei (CKS) Airport.

Anyhow, the who purpose of this post has to do with the complementary drinks usually provided in the airline lounges. Usually, there are a few types of beer, and your standard spirits such as Bacardi rum, Jack Daniels whiskey, Beefeater Gin, etc. Tonight, however, I found something special next to the bottles I just mentioned. Sitting there in the corner, next to the bottle of Bailey's was a half empty bottle of Hennessy X.O cognac. Hennessy XO is made from a blend of over 100 different eaux-de-vie, and retails for about $125 for a 750 ml bottle and is a great cognac. In fact, when I was on my honeymoon in France, my wife and I toured the Hennessy distillery and bought ourselves a half-bottle of X.O which we have a drink from each year on our anniversary. Not a bad way to end a long trip after all!
