I had a few hours to kill this morning, so I headed to the Glorietta Center across from my hotel to have a look around. The Glorietta Center is a huge mall complex with every imaginable Western store and brand as well as local favorites. The second floor of the mall (it has three floors) is almost entirely eateries, coffee shops, and fast food restaurants (including Mc Donald's, Burger King, and Subway).

While walking around the food floor, I came across two restaurants that used to be big in America that are almost entirely gone now, Kenny Rogers Roasters and Shakey's Pizza. Turns out that both of these places are huge in Asia. In fact, there are more Shakey's Pizza parlors in the Philippines than there are in the U.S. When I was in high school, we had a local Shakey's that we went to all the time. One day, it was just gone. Now I know where it went!
